Sometimes you get lucky and you have a day off from everything. On those sort of days you can relax and take your time. No rushing out the door tie half done, jacket half on and toast in mouth. On those sort of days you can also dress however you want. Comfort usually plays a large factor in how that all plays out. Most of us call this time the weekend, but for some of us, even a weekend can be work. So when everything happens to work out and you got nothing on the calendar, it's a great time to lounge around doing whatever is the opposite of what you usually do. You might find yourself spending the day in a plush chair doing the NY Times crossword, catching up on a TV show or a book, maybe even taking a nap. You might head out to the store for a good six pack and something to grill. On days like this I tend to reach for the basics: khakis, OCBD, sweater, mocs, etc. LL Bean is the perfect purveyor of relaxed and comfortable, something I believe so much I went with all Bean everything for this one. It's the perfect casual outfit: it looks good, it feels good, it is good.

Always a fan of the Bean Boot mocs. Great cardigan, too.
agree with scott on both accounts. keep up the inspiration panels, man.
Sorry to break your bond, boys, but those LL Bean shoes are the ugliest thing i ever saw...and this goes for all LL Beans boots.
Bash me, but there is no love from me for these attrocities...must be an american thing, really.
Taking the rest though, pieces look great!
I noticed that picture of the guy wearing Barbour and tweed and stuff on that Prep blog (you know which one I mean). By putting those Beans on his feet, he destroyed the whole look. They're so very ugly! And there are so many alternatives. Even Swims...
Thanks for the comments everyone.
Dan, I'm definitely going to do so, glad you're enjoying them.
The opinion on bean boots always seems to be divided, but trust me, I was once a naysayer as well. As the old saying goes, you can't knock it till you try it. Now that I've got a pair I use for hunting I've become a convert. They are comfortable, weatherproof and nearly indestructible. When you're looking for house slipper like comfort on a slushy day, there's no better shoe. Even swims don't compare.
Is it even possible for you to take affectation any higher? Bean Duck Boots in a region noted for its lack of rain?
Anon, Is it even possible for you to be less informed and more ignorant? I'm guessing you don't live where I live, so I'm also guessing that you have no real idea about what the weather is like. It rains here, in fact, it rained yesterday and I wore them. Also, did you miss the part about how I use them for hunting? Because, based on your comment, I'm guessing you did. Also, I use them when I help my father out in the winter with his communications tower on top of a mountain where there's snow. Thanks for visiting my site.
Completely disarmed Anon with LSAT quality logic.
Love it. Ha.
