Inspiration: Ralph Lauren F/W 2013

I know we're slowly making the ascent out of winter, and I'm sure many of us are looking forward to the sunny days of spring. But there's a few last bits of Fall and Winter inspiration I'd like to share. This is from Ralph Lauren's F/W 2013 show recently. The fit and tailoring are classic Ralph Lauren, but the items still somehow seem fresh and updated, making me rather enjoy the last few weeks of cold weather. I enjoy seeing double monk straps in their natural habitat with a custom three piece suit instead of whatever street wear the NY blogger scene has them in. I like the well styled and tailored yet ever so slightly disheveled look to these outfits (except for the last three that are perfect). It reminds me of why we all like Ralph Lauren in the first place.

Gotta love the Polo porn. I hear plenty of criticisms and jokes about wearing so much Polo, but so what? It's always solid. There's not a thing here I wouldn't love for my own wardrobe, and I'm sure most others would say the same.

I can't imagine why someone would criticize over wearing polo, the only two reasons I could come up with is that they're part of the old ultra conservative set that considers Ralph an impostor among Brooks Bros and J.Press, or they're simply envious of your wardrobe. Nothing wrong with wearing a designer who clothing and sizes you know well. There's also a reason why RL is a bigger company than all the other trad/ivy/prep crowd. I regularly wear all RL everything, but then again, I'm nearly the only guy who dresses well in my city.
